Alaskan Malamute is a breed of large sled dogs originating from Alaska. Originally, they were used to transport loads over long distances. Dogs of this breed are endowed with a strong character and physical prowess. They are resistant to low temperatures and are characterized by a dense coat. Malamutes are well acclimatized in the human environment, usually they are patient and gentle. However, they also need a large dose of movement and their strongly developed hunting instinct requires the owner to be very vigilant during walks - uncontrolled Malamute may be chasing a smaller animal.
