Amalienborg Castle has been the official residence of the Danish royal family since 18th century. It is often called the winter palace (the edifice is usually used by the monarchs during winter). In reality Amalienborg is a complex of four Rococo palaces, built around the square of the octagonal shape. The castle is a great tourist attraction of Copenhagen (the Palace Museum itself, located within the limits of the complex is annually visited by almost 80 thousand people).
