The mountain range called the Appalachian Mountains is located in the eastern part of North America. These are the oldest mountains on the continent, stretching on the territories of the two countries: the United States and Canada. The highest peak of the Appalachian Mountains reaches the height of 2037 meters above the sea level and is located in North Carolina, in the so-called Blue Ridge Mountains. The mountainous landscape vivified by thickets full of flowering rhododendrons. These flowers belong to the heather family and they often grow in the mountains, creating colorful carpets on the slopes of valleys.
