Canada is the second largest country in the world. The northern areas of Canada are located in the area of subarctic and polar climates. This country has abundant inland waters. The largest rivers of Canada are the MacKenzie, Nelson and Saskatchewan Rivers. Among the tributaries of the river MacKenzie is the small river Athabaska, which is known for its landscape values, numerous swift currents (places where the water current locally speeds up) and waterfalls. Its spring is located in the Rocky Mountains, flows though the Jasper National Park, where the famous Athabaska waterfalls can be seen.
