Autumn, the most colorful and melancholic season of the year, was the favorite season of artists in the 19th century. It perfectly conveyed the atmosphere of Romanticism and Modernism, movements that were focused on emotions and reflections concerning the place of a human being in the world. It inspired such artists as Caspar David Friedrich or van Gogh. The artists were fond of painting landscapes depicting forests, mountains and urban parks that are full of yellow, red and brown leaves. Sunny autumn days provide aesthetic sensations even today, and walking through dry fallen leaves gives a lot of pleasure.
