In autumn leaves change colors - from green they become yellow, golden, orange, red, brown. This impressive discoloration is caused by the loss of chlorophyll, which is responsible for green color of leaves. It is the first symptom of leaves' aging and a signal of the end of the plants' vegetation period. Colorful leaves live very short. When chlorophyll and other plant dyes are finished and at the same time the process of photosynthesis is finished, leaves fall off the trees.
