Complex of sacred buildings in Bagan in Burma consists of over two thousand temples and stupas of various sizes. Their construction was started in 9th century. The temples are located on the area that covers about 40 km2. The temples are dedicated to Hindu gods and to Buddha. Beautiful, original sacred architecture of Bagan made the complex so recognizable that it was listed on the UNESCO World Heritage Site List. It is annually visited by millions of tourists and thanks to that Bagan is considered as one of the biggest tourist attractions of Asia.
