Balloons
A balloon is conceptually the simplest of all flying machines. It is a type of aircraft that remains aloft due to its buoyancy. The hot air balloon Kongming lantern was developed for military communication service round about the 2nd or 3rd century AD in China. The first balloons capable of carrying passengers used hot air to obtain buoyancy and were built in France in 1783.
