Bartolomé Island (Ecuador)
Ecuador is the country located on the Pacific Ocean. The Galápagos archipelago belongs to this country. A group of Ecuadorian islands of volcanic origin is located at both sides of the equator. Next to the fourth largest island, Santiago, there is a small, rocky piece of land called Bartolomé. Tourists visiting this small island can admire the characteristic silhouette of the Pinnacle Rock formed from lava that was quickly cooled by sea water. The island is home to the Galápagos penguins and green sea turtles.
