Decorative cherry trees are considered as one of the most recognizable symbols of Japan and a popular theme in Asian art, associated primarily with ephemeral, subtle beauty. White and pale pink flowers appear at the earliest, as early as in February, on sakuras of Okinawa. On the island of Hokkaido cherries bloom only at the beginning of May. The beautiful sakuras garden can also be found, among others, on the 700-hectare Wuling farm, one of the tourist attractions of western Taiwan.
