Beckov Castle (Slovakia)
The ruins of the Beckov Castle are situated on the step rocky hill, over the town of the same name, in western Slovakia. The stony fortifications were built most probably in the middle of 13th c., for the protection of the borders of the Kingdom of Hungary. The castle resisted the invaders many times, but fell into disrepair after the fire in 1729.
