Beech forest in autumn

Beech forest (so called beechwoods) are to be found in Central Europe, but only there, where the climate is humid and moderate, mostly in the lowlands and lower parts of the mountains. These are specific environments with the shaded bottom of the forest, which makes it much more difficult for other plants to grow. That is why the beechwoods usually lack a layer of undergrowth and only young beeches grow there in the undergrowth. Beech, as a tree that is hard, but light and easy to woodwork is a basic material used in carpentry and building engineering.
