Bergen is a Norwegian city founded in the 11th century and an important international port located where the North and Norwegian Seas meet. Bergen has rich merchant traditions, which can be seen in the coastal district of Bryggen with a row of Hanseatic buildings with colorful facades. Today these medieval houses are used as museums, bars, restaurants and souvenir shops, which can be visited while walking along the marina. The coastal climate of the city can be also experienced at the Fish Market and the pier, where yachts as well as fishing and motor boats are moored.
