Karlskrona is located on the rocky islands belonging to the Blekinge archipelago and it was once a major naval port and still remains the base of the Swedish navy. The city was founded in 1680 and has been the UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2016. Karlskrona is a clean and safe city. It is also considered to be the sunniest city in Sweden. Numerous bridges, footbridges and dikes allow visitors to take long walks, whereas small crafts provide tourists with fast and comfortable connection between the islands. Karlskrona has a direct ferry connection with Gdynia, Poland.
