Funchal is the largest city on the island of Madeira and its capital. Huge carpets of flowers planted to form fancy patterns may seem kitschy, however, this place is truly charming. The Jardim Botânico botanical garden is known for the flower carpets, where colorful flowers are arranged in geometric patterns. Apart from that, we can admire endemic plants, succulents and tropical birds in the park.
