Bougainvillea and hibiscus are beautiful, exotic ornamental plants that are usually grown in a warm climate. Their pink and purple flowers with delicate petals usually grow on vines. Bougainvillea is especially popular in Spain, Malaysia, the Philippines and Taiwan. Its abundant shrubs grow over fences and walls of houses also in Croatia and Italy. Hibiscus, or differently rose mallow, is used for the production of aromatic infusions. Candied hibiscus flowers are also known as delicacies. This beautiful, edible plant is a symbol of the Chinese city of Chengdu.
