Soup is a simple and very old dish, however, a nutritious one and despite the passage of time it is still popular. It is prepared by boiling vegetables, meat, fruits or cereal products such as groats or rice. Such a method of preparing food is not only very convenient, as it is enough to put necessary ingredients to a pot, but also makes it possible to prepare a highly nourishing meal. During the process of cooking lots of nourishment is released and it has been proved that without thermal treatment it would not be absorbed by a body. Lots of vitamins and microelements remain in the broth, which should not be poured out (e.g. to eat only vegetables) as it would result in losing these precious substances.
