The Federal Tax Service is the Russian equivalent of the Internal Revenue Service. The institution was established in 2004,when the functions of the Tax Service of the Russian Federation were divided between the service mentioned above and the Department of Tax Crimes. The tasks of the service include the registration of taxpayers and the regulation of relations between the taxpayer and the state. The Federal Tax Service has its seat in a skyscraper in Moscow, decorated in the style referring to the architecture of the 1990s.
