Jacksonville is a large American city located on the Atlantic Ocean and the River Saint John in Florida. The first settlement in this area belonged to the Timucua people. Today the cultural and social life of the city is centered around Jacksonville Landing and Hemming Park. The highest skyscrapers in Jacksonville are the 188-meter Bank of America Tower put into service in 1990 and the 37-storey Wells Fargo Center. Both buildings are situated near the St. Johns River in the city center. At dusk the illuminated skyscrapers can be admired from the Main Street Bridge.
