At the south-eastern tip of the Cape Peninsula in South Africa is Cape Point. A lighthouse was built on a rocky promontory - its light is visible from a distance of a hundred kilometers. At the top of the cape can be accessed by stairs, but you can also get there by a funicular railway. Cape Point is frequently visited by tourists spending their vacation in Cape Town. The Cape of Good Hope is situated two kilometers away.
