Estaing is a picturesque village located in the south of France on the banks of the Lot river. On the hill dominating the settlement there is a medieval castle built by one of the richest French families - Rouergue. The castle has survived intact to our times and its tower makes the structure dominate over the surrounding houses from the 16th and 17th centuries. The village lies on the famous pilgrimage route of St. James leading to Santiago de Compostela and since the 19th century its inhabitants have organized a festival to honor pilgrims.
