Chicago is a major city in the U.S. state of Illinois. Since the first steel-framed high-rise building of the world was constructed in the city in 1885, Chicago has been known for its skyscrapers. Today, many high-rise buildings are located in the downtown area. The three tallest buildings are the Sears Tower, the Aon Center, and the John Hancock Center.
