Chocolate Hills (Philippines)

The range of hills on the Philippine island of Bohol owes its name of the Chocolate Hills to the brown color they get during the dry season, when the grass that grows on them gets brown. Over a thousand cone-shaped and half-round hills reaches the height from 30 to 100 meters. The hills were probably created due to the rocks weathering lasting millions of years. It is surprising that there are no caves, the creation of which usually accompanies this process. The legend says that the hills were created from the falling tears of a giant in love, as a result of the fight between the two conflicted giants.
