Prague is the capital of the Czech Republic and a beautiful city with the historic Old Town on the right bank of the Vltava River. A late-Baroque church of St Nicholas is situated at the Lesser Town Square. The temple was built in the first half of the 18th century in accordance with the design by the famous Czech architect Kilián Ignác Dientzenhofer. Inside the church you can admire, among other things, the 19th-century crystal chandelier – a gift from the Russian Tsar, as well as frescoes depicting scenes from the life of St Nicholas and St Benedict. An impressive body of the temple can be seen from the tower of the Old Town City Hall.
