Mechelen is a city located in the Belgian province of Antwerp. Its history is strongly associated with the cloth trade, the lace industry and the work of the Anglo-Saxon missionary, Rumbold. At present, the fashionable Grote Markt square is the heart of Mechelen, there is the cathedral of St Rumbold and the unusual city hall, which includes the 14th-century cloth hall, Gothic-Baroque belfry and the Great Council Palace. The building is the UNESCO World Heritage Site and inside there is, among others, a magnificent wedding hall.
