The neo-classical clock tower is the most recognizable structure on the island. A characteristic white building with a light blue dome was erected in 1927. To this day, it is a showcase of Poros and a kind of landmark, as it is visible from almost every place on the island. The tower is located on a hill with winding and steep stairs. The town was built on a hill and for that reason the rows of residential houses with bright elevations and orange roofs can be admired from the deck of a yacht or ferry long before entering the port.
