The products that we classify as fruits or vegetables in our kitchens are not always interpreted in the same way by botanists. According to the biological definition, a fruit is a part of the plant that develops from a flower and contains seeds. Therefore a tomato, cucumber, zucchini or peppers are fruits, although many people considered them as vegetables. However, botanical classification does not have great significance from the point of view of a consumer – rich taste and aroma of the products served, as well as their nutritional value are the most important, in the case of fruits and vegetables such qualities are indispensable.
