Seeds, i.e. these parts of plants which contain their embryos, are the richest nutrients in the food groups. In the cuisines of various countries fresh and dried seeds are commonly used, e.g. sesame seeds or dried soya beans. Among the popular products we can also find dried seeds of beans, peas and chickpeas, which may be excellent ingredients of stews and soups. They are also a perfect complement to meat dishes. They contain large amounts of easily digestible protein, therefore they are recommended especially in meatless diets, however, due to the abundance of minerals and fiber, legumes should be included in the diet of each of us.
