Composition of sashimi
Sashimi is a traditional Japanese dish consisting of thinly cut pieces of fish, seafood or raw meat. Irrespective of what is served as sashimi it must be absolutely fresh and raw. Top restaurants prepare this dish in the presence of guests using the fish killed on the spot, which indicates the freshness of meat served. Sashimi is considered one of the most exquisite dishes of the Japanese cuisine. It is served in the form of intricately arranged compositions, where apart from the pieces of meat there are also sauces, e.g. soy sauce or wasabi. The composition may also consist of decoratively cut radish, Japanese red cabbage or miniature chrysanthemum flowers.
