Continental breakfast
A meal, which is most often served in hotels and guest houses in the morning, is called a continental breakfast. It consists of bread, butter, sweet sides such as jam and honey, and hot coffee or tea. Sometimes this basic set is expanded with fresh fruit or cheese, cold cuts and warm extras, such as scrambled eggs or sausages. In contrast to the buffet breakfast, the continental breakfast is served at the table. Such meals can be found primarily in the Mediterranean countries and in the United States.
