Coral reef
Coral reefs occur in the sea and ocean waters at the appropriate temperature and salinity. They are built from limestone skeletons of plants and animal organisms such as corals, foraminifers, annelids and others. In the vicinity of coral reefs there are also numerous species of fish with fabulous colors and shapes. The largest coral reef is located at the north-eastern coast of Australia, stunningly beautiful coral formations are also found around the islands of the Andaman Archipelago, as well as near Mexico and the Caribbean, Maldives and Philippines. Unfortunately, pollution and climate change contribute to the disappearance of coral reefs.
