According to archeologists, corn was grown as early as seven thousand years ago on the area of present-day Mexico. It became popular in Europe during the period of great geographical discoveries, i.e. towards the end of 15th century. Today corn is the world’s most frequently grown crop – about 600 million tons of corn are harvested every year!
