The Buddhist temple Wat Phra Kaew, otherwise known as Wat Phra Keo, is located in the Grand Palace in Bangkok. It was built in 1782. The most important object within this walled temple complex is the statue of the Emerald Buddha from the first century BC. Many statues, plinths and other architectural details located in the temple of Wat Phra Kaew are made of gold. This place is the destination of numerous pilgrimages and tourist trips.
