Different types of pepper
Pepper comes from Southeast Asia. Thanks to pepper international trade began to develop in the Middle Ages. Black pepper has the strongest flavor – these are simply unripe berries of the Piperaceae family, dried and fermented. Aromatic and milder white pepper is a more mature, dried fruit that has been deprived of an outer shell. The green variety of pepper is obtained by drying at low temperatures and preserving in brine. On the other hand, red pepper is the fruit of Brazilian and Peruvian capsicum. Not everyone knows that the popular Cayenne pepper is actually a powdered variety of hot red pepper.
