Dnieper River (Ukraine)
Flowing through Russia, Belarus and Ukraine the Dnieper River is one of the longest rivers in Europe. Its total length is estimated on 2285 km. The river, the source of which is in the Valdai Hills, belongs to the Black Sea basin. Kiev is one of the biggest cities located on the Dnieper River. In the past the river was an important transportation route. At present there is a number of artificial reservoirs built on the Dnieper River, which causes progressive degradation of the Dnieper nature. However, there are still many charming river arms, which are attractive places for tourists, nature lovers are water sports fans.
