San Andrés and Providencia is the Colombian department with the capital in San Andrés. The archipelago of beautiful islands and sandbanks on the Caribbean Sea belongs to the department. The island of San Andrés is abundant in picturesque bays and paradise beaches as well as enraptures visitors with the Big Pond lagoon. The island owes its charm to the closeness of coral reefs and exotic greenery, e.g. coconut palms. There are docks on the Haynes Cay coast, where yachts and boats may be moored.
