Dumbo is a variety of domestic rat, distinguished by a characteristic shape and arrangement of ears. The ears of that animal are round and quite big, what is more, they are set slightly lower than in other rats, on the sides of the head. Its large, protruding ears, combined with a pointed snout and tiny black eyes, look extremely charming. Rats that have been classified as "dumbo" come from the United States and today are considered to be one of the most popular varieties. They owe their name to the elephant Dumbo, the character known from a cartoon.
