El Castillo, Chichen Itza (Mexico)
El Castillo (Temple of Kukulcan) is a step-pyramid in the center of the Chichen Itza. Built by the Maya civilization sometime between the 11th and 13th centuries, "El Castillo" served as a temple to the god Kukulcan. Chichen Itza was a major regional center in the northern Maya lowlands.
