Shanghai is the largest and most populous city of China, inhabited by almost 24 million people. The city is also the most important Chinese financial, economic and transport center, as well as the world’s third largest sea port. This large and important regional center must be perfectly organized in terms of transportation. In the city there are four important railways, Jinghu freeway connecting Shanghai and Beijing, two large airports and the sea port that has been already mentioned. What is more, Shanghai has public transportation that is perfectly organized. It consists of over a thousand bus lines, 12 metro lines and the world’s longest high-speed magnetic levitation line.
