Fairy chimneys (Turkey)
Characteristic rocky formations of Turkish Cappadocia were created due to erosion. The rock of volcanic origin (tuff), subjected to rain and wind by many years creates a fantastic, moon-like landscape. It is, next to the rocky houses and churches, one of the biggest tourist attractions of this region. Cappadocia is situated in the eastern part of Asia Minor, on the Anatolian Highland.
