French macarons
Macarons are one of the most popular French delicacies. They are known around the world and are characterized by their shape and pastel colors. Macarons are traditionally made of ground almonds, egg whites, icing sugar and various fixings. These cookies have long history that dates back the 13th century and originally they were a snack for the poorest. Nevertheless, today they are a fancy dessert and tasteful table decoration at parties and banquets. Almond macarons have a delicate top crust, but inside they are slightly creamy and moist.
