Winter landscapes with endless fields covered with white snow, snowy blizzards and picturesquely frosted crowns of trees have been inspiring artists for centuries, being a great subject of paintings, as well as musical and poetic works. Snow was recorded on countless photographs, and it was also readily used in the world of moving images. The winter scenery co-created the unique atmosphere of such films as The Shining by Stanley Kubrick, The Hateful Eight by Quentin Tarantino, or the Coen Brothers' Fargo.
