FV101 Scorpion is a British light reconnaissance tank. Vehicles of this type appeared with the first heavy battle tanks at the end of World War I and until World War II they were used as a basic tool in battle due to the low maintenance cost and ease of maneuverability. However, their role has steadily decreased – firstly heavy tanks were introduced, whereas today armored vehicles are more popular. FV101 Scorpion tanks served the British Army in the years 1972-1993. They took part, among others, in the Falklands War and the first Gulf War. Today they can admired only in museums.
