Palma de Mallorca is the capital of Majorca and the largest city in the Balearic Islands. Visitors to this beautiful corner of the world may do water sports, sunbathe on golden beaches and spend evenings in night clubs. The settlement founded by the Romans in the Bay of Palma for centuries changed hands and boasts a long history. Among the buildings reminiscent of the history it is a must to mention the old town known as Casco Antiguo, the Bellver fortress and the late medieval La Seu cathedral located on the hill. The monumental building is surrounded by extensive, manicured gardens with colorful flowerbeds and a plane tree alley.
