Gaztelugatxe is a small rocky islet located in the Bay of Biscay on the northern coast of Spain. It is connected to the mainland by a narrow spit through which you can cross a stone bridge. At the top of the hill located on Gaztelugatxe, there is Emita de San Juan, i.e. the chapel of St. John the Baptist from the 10th century, regularly visited by pilgrims and tourists from around the world. The islet is associated with several local legends and superstitions that make this picturesque place in the Basque Country even more exceptional.
