Geneva is located in the south-western part of Switzerland on Lake Geneva. The Evangelical-Reformed Cathedral of Saint Peter, built in the Gothic style, is one of the most important monuments of the city. The temple towers over the old town and the shopping district of Geneva - the building overlooks the center of Geneva. Among the other historic monuments of the city there are the Calvin Auditorium and the oldest private house in Geneva – the 14th-century Maison Tavel. Place du Bourg de Four, around which there are 16th-century tenement houses, numerous cafes and promenades, is the oldest square in Geneva.
