Grotto pavilion in Kuskovo (Russia)
Kuskovo is the largest and best-preserved palace complex in Russia (not counting the tsarist palaces). Formerly it was a separate village but now it lies within the boundaries of Moscow. The palace for which Kuskovo is famous for was built in the 18th century, when the owner of the settlement – Count Peter Sheremetev, decided to build a family residence. The complex consists of Baroque and neoclassical buildings, including the main palace, orangery, Orthodox church, gallery and a magnificent 30-hectar garden in the French style with numerous statues and pavilions. Today the complex is available for tourists. There is the museum of porcelain and palace interiors.
