Guava is an unusual fruit resembling a miniature watermelon. This tropical plant comes from South America. Its bright red flesh is hidden in a green shell and has a characteristic sweet and sour taste and intense aroma. The fruit is rich in vitamins C and A as well as beta-carotene, it is also a valuable source of magnesium, folic acid and contains a lot of fiber. In Mexico guava is used for preparing aromatic drinks. Guava may be an ingredient of salads, desserts, jams and other sweet products.
