Port district in Hamburg (Germany)
Hamburg is the second largest city of Germany. The city is located on the river Elbe which connects the city with other cities, both in Germany and Europe. Thanks to these connections the city was flourishing rapidly and the port in Hamburg is the second largest in Europe. The only bigger port is the one in Rotterdam. The main buildings of the old infrastructure are located in the port district. The Hamburg old town was significantly destroyed during World War II, however, it has been rebuilt and is still very impressive.
