Historic houses in Savannah (USA)
Savannah is a city located on the river of the same name in the US state of Georgia. It was founded by British General James Oglethorpe in 1733. There are many historic buildings, including townhouses and colonial-style villas. A majority of buildings date back to the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries and thanks to that Savannah retains the old-fashioned atmosphere of the South. In the city there are numerous squares and green areas, places commemorating important events of the past and the bustling boulevard along the river. Urban development is in mulberry trees. On St Patrick Day there is a great parade that attracts thousands of tourists.
